Contemporary ceramics has rediscovered the beauty and astonishing modernity of terra sigillata, a technique that is respectful of nature and the true heir to Greco-Roman ceramics.

Freeing myself from tradition, I am at liberty to experiment, layering clay slips of diverse provenance upon one another, immersing my bowls in the joy of wood fires, alternating the oxidation and reduction phases during firing, cloaking the bowls in a veil of smoke and occasionally even firing them for a second time.

Expressing the magic of earth and fire: bowls, always more bowls... providing sensuality in the palm of the hand, the pleasure of the tea that fills the bowl with liquid light.
